Dr. PAUL S. MALCHESKY, D.Eng.
Dr. Malchesky holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry/Math from St. Francis College (PA) and an M.S. degree in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He holds also an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and a Doctorate in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, from Cleveland State University. He is President of the International Center for Artificial Organs and Transplantation (ICAOT) and President of Malchesky & Associates, LLC, a firm specializing in providing consulting services to the medical device and chemical industries. As former Vice President, Research and Development, Scientific Services, and Investigational Studies at STERIS Corporation for almost 10 years, he led research and development teams on sterilization methods supervising many scientists and engineers. Previously at the CLEVELAND CLINIC FOUNDATION from 1969 to 1992, Dr. Malchesky headed world recognized research and development efforts with a multidisciplinary team of professionals in the field of artificial organ technologies.
He is an Associate Professor of Surgery, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, an Adjunct Staff in Biomedical Engineering, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH, and an Adjunct Professor in Chemical Engineering at Kansas State University. Dr. Paul S. Malchesky has carried out and directed research and development in a variety of medical device and chemical related areas including sterilization processes and sterilant formulation and separation processes for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. He has published extensively in many medical fields and holds thirty one patents. Dr. Malchesky is active in various professional societies and is Editor-in-Chief of Artificial Organs, and is the Managing Editor of Therapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis.
