TSO3 to present to the scientific community for the first time at the 4th International Symposium on Ozone Applications

April 6, 2004

Québec City, April 6, 2004 – Members of the scientific team at TSO3 Inc. (“TSO3”) are to present the ozone sterilization process the Company has developed for medical instrumentation at the 4th International Symposium on Ozone Applications, to be held in Cuba by the Ozone Research Center from April 6 to 9, 2004.

“It is a great opportunity for us to present our work to the scientific community for the first time, as well as to meet with colleagues from all over the planet and learn more about the latest advances in ozone research,” said Simon Robitaille, COO and Director of Research at TSO3.

For the purpose of this symposium, a broad scientific program has been organized with the topics currently being tackled by The Ozone Research Center of Cuba, as well as those developed in collaboration with other Cuban institutions over the last 25 years of scientific work. The aim of this symposium is to offer an appropriate framework for sharing experiences and scientific ideas, and for addressing advances in ozone research.

About the Ozone Research Center, Cuba

The Ozone Research Center, a branch of the National Center for Scientific Research in Cuba (NCSR) was founded May 1, 1994, and is responsible for leading the study of ozone and extending ozone applications all over the country.

Research at the Ozone Research Center is ongoing. Since 1987, many papers have been presented in the Ozone World Congresses and then published in high-impact national and international scientific journals. Two national and three international conferences on ozone research and applications have been held in Cuba at the Ozone Research Center, and more than 200 papers have been presented there, and a hundred researchers and specialists from 50 countries have taken part in the conferences. The results obtained have given the Center a worldwide reputation in the medical and industrial applications of ozone. The Center has been affiliated with the International Ozone Association (IOA) (www.int-ozone-assoc.org), since 1995.

The research carried out throughout the years and its contributions to medicine have given Cuba a well-deserved worldwide reputation in the field of the medical applications of ozone. About TSO3

TSO3 Inc. is located in Québec City, Québec, Canada, and was founded in 1998. TSO3 currently has 43 employees, 16 of whom work exclusively in the Research and Development department. The company’s mission is to develop and market innovative and comprehensive sterilization solutions.

TSO3 has perfected a novel sterilization process using ozone as a sterilizing agent. The first product based on this technological platform is the 125L Ozone Sterilizer, which is intended for hospital sterilization units. The 125L – named after its 125-litre/4.3-cubic-foot capacity – was designed to sterilize the new generation of surgical and diagnostic instruments made of non-heat-resistant materials such as polymers and other plastics. The ozone sterilization process is a safe, efficient, fast and cost-effective response to evolving sterilization needs.

The 125L Ozone Sterilizer was licensed by Health Canada in May 2002 and TSO3 was granted U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval September 3, 2003.

The Company’s R&D team has also undertaken the development of a smaller, point-of-use ozone sterilization device for operating rooms and private clinics, and is planning the development of an industrial-sized device for manufacturers of medical instruments, among others.
