This session will discuss the top evolving best practices and the steps to build a highly reliable endoscope reprocessing and sterilization program. A successful quality control plan incorporates analysis of microbial cultures and verification of manual cleaning by residual protein testing and borescope inspection. A comprehensive plan should also include technicians’ work environment, education, competencies, certifications, and pay. This session will compare disinfection and sterilization risks and outline a process to engage an interdisciplinary team to support quality endoscope reprocessing.
